One of the most important components of bike care includes engine oil and oil filter. Engine oil plays an important role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the bike, which keeps it running smoothly. Engine oil is essential to the operation of your motorbike and operates in three ways: reducing internal friction, cooling the components of the motor and flushing the motor of debris. Oil helps to lubricate the moving parts in the motor and prevents them from coming into direct contact with each other, which results in wear and tear. As such, it is important that you check the engine oil level regularly, as well as for oil leakage.
How frequent then should you change your engine oil? There is no hard and fast rule for this, but a good recommendation is once every month if you ride every day, or every 5,000 to 7,000 km. It shouldn’t take more than half an hour but yet keeps your bike engine running in top notch condition.
Another important component to look out for is the oil filter, which is designed to catch as much of the contaminants that build up within the motor as possible. The oil filter strains out any foreign objects as it passes through the filter. Changing the oil filter regularly refreshes this system and removes any build-up and provides fresh lubrication. A good rule of thumb would be to change both the engine oil and oil filter system once every month, or every 5,000 to 7,000 km as mentioned earlier.
Besides engine oil and oil filter change, we also changed the Domino handle grips, replaced the throttle and clutch cable and the side stand for this customer. The Domino handles grips is highly recommended as it improves the comfort while riding.
