The Honda Rebel 234 is among the cruiser style motorcycles we got a chance to ride. There are various models to choose from having the same displacement as this machine however we are looking for a cruiser designed for beginners use and we end up choosing the Rebel. It is propelled by tried and true 234cc air-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine. Though it appears like a smaller as compared to larger cruiser, still it has enough power and torque to keep our entire ride fun and relaxed. The Rebel weigh only 331 pounds carrying 2.6 gallons of fuel, lubricants and a small engine. No wonder why it is agile on the street and even when cruising at 65mph on the highway. It can approach corners and turn well. Cruising down steep road require downshifting to maintain a smooth ride. We found the seat height very low which might be difficult for taller riders to withstand over a long distance travel. Though it has enough power to pull shorter riders, there could be feeling of discomfort on controls and seating position. But for us who are below 6″0 its absolutely fine and comfortable. The good combination of the bikes lightweight and low seat height result to ease of steering at speed. It is also easy to plant both feet on the ground during stops and ensures great balance when sitting the Rebel at the parking space. Overall, the Honda Rebel 234 is a nice cruiser for beginners considering its user friendly features, controllable power and maneuverability. It can keep pace with the larger cruiser and other moving vehicles on the highway. Riders can get all of this plus its classic style at very economical price.
