Being a LAMS machine, Honda Shadow 400 (Shaft Drive) offers several features that suits a beginner. Allow us to share our experiencing in riding it so you’ll have a better idea on how does it perform. Hitting the starter and the machine is ready to roll. It has low seat height which can suit anyone, weight is kept low boosting the confidence of novice riders. Ergonomics is excellent with enough room and its upright stance is the most comfortable. The cable clutch is light while the 5-speed gearbox snaps with ease. The gearbox work out just fine for us though it does not have the same precision as the sportsbike, after all its a cruising motorcycle. Ease out the clutch, sit comfortably, use plenty of revs and blast away. The low center gravity of its body mass combines with easy controls and natural riding position makes the overall package great for novice riders. Shadow 400 has adequate power and torque, its more than enough to give excitement to learners. Power delivery is linear and a little inclined towards the mid-range but nevertheless it has usable capacity for up, down, go, low shifting. We reached a top speed of 135 km/h while on longer rides with wind blast it may be down to 110 km/h. Fuel injection is responsive, suspension is basic and its braking power delivers good feedback without initial bite. Its fuel economy and looks attractive on the road too, you can surely get the value of money you paid for Honda Shadow 400 (Shaft Drive).
