Taking Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom ABS for a Ride
Appreciating the good weather, we went out to test our pick from the adventure tourers of Suzuki. We tackle street, canyons and freeways to test V-Strom’s ride quality and stability under different road conditions. Upon starting the engine, we noticed that off-idle throttle is a bit tricky, it should be squeezed smoothly to avoid a shaky start but gladly we get used to it quickly. Riding in heavy city traffic, the Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom ABS we are able to pass and draw a line through the traffic that only required us minimal shifting and power inputs. The engine is peppy that’s why we cannot complain when it delivered smooth and easy ride. We never experienced difficulties on approaching corners and twists though footpegs are in low position. The bike’s lively spirit encouraged us to lean into corners and we didn’t failed to perform it smoothly. Going on rough unpaved roads and city bumps doesn’t disappoint because its soft suspension and durable tires takes all the pressure for a smooth feeling. Riding the V-Strom on longer tours, seating position is just fine and comfortable with us not to mention our fair height. We never had fatigue and leg cramps because of its roomy ergonomics and comfortable seat. We tried with a passenger on board, the bike surprisingly handled the all the weight and its tires are did a good job too. Cruising is fun, the bike is still ready to roll after a long day of road test.
