We went to test the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT with reviews in mind.
Our first acceleration is surprisingly powerful and itâs really hard to believe that we are riding a 650cc liquid cooled v-twin engine powered motorcycle for such an amazing blast. Mid-range power is not quite delightful but it is ample enough to prevent excessive downshifting. Exhaust note is not impressive but the engine roar at higher revs. Commuting with the Suzuki V-strom 650XT is fun and getting to city traffic is not a problem thanks to its responsive throttle, light and slim body. Also, we averaged 57mpg for the entire city street commuting meaning we can reach 250 miles before running out of fuel.
With a broad power bond, the V-strom 650XT has adequate power for passing cars and trucks on the freeway. The engine is smooth and itâs easy to reach a triple digit speed. At cruising speed, there is minimal vibration felt but itâs totally unnoticeable. We appreciate the windscreen ability to protect us throughout the ride and also the cushioned seat for keeping us comfortable. The upright seating position is perfect on tackling winding roads and it is preferable to ride at cruising speed for seamless performance. The brakes delivered powerful yet safe stopping power which we believe useful on variety of road surfaces.
Giving it a shot off the road, Suzuki V-strom 650XT is actually not an off-road friendly bike but its road grabbing tires provided enough traction for a comfortable ride. Its low-end power works well off the road without requiring for a traction control system. As the terrain gets more challenging, we continued riding at average pace. The small and light chassis of the bike allowed us to comfortably run on rocky terrain while maintaining our speed low.
